1.1 Role of magnetic field in cosmic bodies

The role of the magnetic field has become firmly recognized in astrophysics as humans discover the rich variety of phenomena present in the universe. The largest constituent of cosmic bodies is in the state of plasma, i.e., ionized gas, which interacts with magnetic fields. Through this interaction the magnetic field is responsible for many of the structures and dynamics that we observe with modern instrumentation.
